"A tentative a user of Reflex XTR"
After long (very long) research and hesitations (several years), I come to decide to me to buy the most powerful simulator of the market for the piloting of remote-controlled helicopters.
I have controlled for more than 10 years, and I was likely to test the majority of the existing simulators. After having spoken with the originators, it proved that the best quality ratio/long-term price is the Reflex camera.
I do not know why it is if not very known in France, because there has existed for more than 10 years and evolves/moves unceasingly.
It has the enormous advantage of having many free updates (several will leave this year) and many models each month leaves (to be downloaded on their site or of the private sites).
The realism of piloting is seizing. Even the reactions with the ground are reproduced as in reality (the helicopter vibrates when it is on the ground,
the plane moves much while running in grass). In flight, I have the impression to control my helicopter, feeling which I never accurately found with
all other simulators.
It has a learning mode making it possible to learn the hovering with a helicopter, as well as torque the roll with a plane.
It has many adjustable parameters very easily, both for qualities of flight the scenes.
As regards the graphics of the models, with the last current version (4.03), they arrived to an astonishing realism (fuselage with antennas; engine, servos and cockpit visible; realistic pilot with the orders).
Smoke holds account of the external parameters (not negative or positive, speed and direction of the model and the wind).
The landing gear is flexible and is damaged in the event of too brutal landing.
The rotor is inclined well in the requested direction and one sees the cone of the rotor being formed by increasing the step. The shade is also very realistic.
On the level of the scenes, it is true that they are not with the signal, but new scenes with new graphics are in preparation. For the hour, I had textures more realistic than those of origin.
An option that I appreciate much is to be able to put of the reference marks in the sky (cross or lines) making it possible to visualize the model in space well, even without seeing the ground.
In flight, the model does not remain stupidly in the center of the screen.
There is the impression to really follow it.
It can even happen that he left the screen. Of course, it acts of an adjustable parameter and while modifying his value, one will follow the model more or less quickly.
I know sure source (but confidential) that they are on a new version which should place this simulator at the outposts.
It should leave as soon as possible in December this year, and will be a paying update, but at a reasonable price (according to the originator).
I got this simulator in Geneva (Swiss) at the price of 295 FS (180,82 Euros). It can also be ordered directly on the official site.
