I'm regulary in Athens and would like to fly from time to time my rc heli. I'm an intermediate pilot stay in Chaidari. Could somebody recomment me a area even if its small to fly. One more question: Do I have to consider special rules to fly in Athens or in general in Greece. Thank you very much for your help! That looks like a nice place to fly. Is this a common area for rc flying, so do I maybe find some people there? Is this area open or do I have to consider some access restrictions? Thanks! @papabill: Good one! Actually I am from Switzerland. My wife is Greek from Athens and we (with kids) are in Greece every holidays (easter, Christmas and summer holidays). I am only looking for people to fly with during my holidays. I am looking forward to meet some Greek rc people. And before you start to laught the maths its not the problem. I assume there is a problem with the first 3 letters of the ABC. What is expected there? ABC, abc, in latin or in greek letters??? I am Greek from the UK and coming to Athens for summer holidays in August. I fly quadcopters/drones, both 200/250 racing drones and larger S500 video drones. I am planning on bringing my S500 with me (and maybe the racing drone). I have a couple of questions: 1) I saw the recommendation above for a good flying area north of central Athens but as I will be staying in Γλυφαδα I was wondering if there are any recommended flying spots near Γλυφαδα ? 2) Also, I would like to capture some nice video footage. I understand the usual regulations apply ie no flying within 3Km of airports or military bases and not over people. Would I be OK to fly over the old airport in Γλυφαδα or around Σούνιο (from the sea) ? Thank you for your help. Spyro |
