Τίτλος: Fly a drone in Greece - regulations?
Αποστολή από: gianlucacolla στις Πέμπτη, 17 Σεπ 2015, 13:08:54
Hello everybody,
I am new to the forum. I am coming next week (October 20 to 24, 2015) in Greece, and I would like to bring my quad-copter with me, but I am not sure what are the regulations?
I called and wrote to the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, and all I got is a PDF in greek I can't read or translate.
Can anyone help giving a few directions on the actual rules?

I would like to fly in the island of Ikaria, and if possible (I guess I also have to buy a permit) over the Acropolis.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!
And apologize if this is not the right place for this topic, it is quite hard know where to post when all is i a foreign language...  ;)

Hi again and thanks for the link. Ikaria Isl is a very quite isl and you 're gonna love it and i wish you a very pleasant stay.

Now, regarding your question and following the Hellenic Regulation of flying an rc model  by CAA you should aware of the followings:

Never fly:

a) a height of over 400 feet from the surface.

b) less than 3 km from a controlled airport.

c) in political or military airports.

d) above, in or near military installations.

e) above the adjacent residential areas.

f) above the adjacent utilities.

g) above or near archaeological sites.

Also take into consideration that if you are using other than 2.4Ghz or 5.8Ghz freq you must be a HAM licence keeper.

About the second place you mentioned ''Acropolis'' is PROHIBITED  and particularly a circle of 700m radius centered on 375833N - 0234355E and below 5000ft ALT. I don't know if you can
take permition to fly close to Acropolis .

Have a nice landings.
