    Black Horse Wyvern S4 50cc ARTF with scale air retracts sytem

    Now here's a model that you don't see every day. In fact it's probably the firts R/C ARTF model of the Wyvern anywhere in the world! The Westland Wyvern was one of the very last, single propeller aircraft to enter service with the Royal Navy for strike purposes. She was big, powerful and packed a huge punch. Only one survives today and that was the prototype. Ok, the Black Horse Wyvern does not have the contra rotating scale propellers, although there are some big electric systems on the market that would do the job, so she needs a powerful 50- 55cc petrol engine like the O.S. GT-55 to do her justice and deliver performance. Actually, most of the GT-55 and silencer get swallowed up by the cowl, making a very scale nose area. Flaps are not scale in shape, but are highly effective during landing. They are capable of big lift and drag, consequently they need strong servo power to operate. The all wood construction is laser-cut, jig-assembled and then clothed in durable, printed vinyl in a real scale scheme. It's a big model, so the wings, tailplanes and fin are designed to be removable for transport, making the Wyvern a very practical model to carry in a regular estate car of bigger hatchback. A full set of completely new, all-metal, air retracts are included and the legs are the sprung oleo type. Scale inner wheel well doors are actuated by the wheels as they retract, making a very clean underside when in flight. The tailwheel is fixed but sprung and quite scale looking. The scale pilot and detailed cockpit are all new and in keeping with all the detail that has been lavished on this model. You even get some external weapons to hang on the wing underside. The Black Horse Wyvern is a bold statement of 'doing something different' and will certainly turn a lot of heads on your club patch!!

    History:
    The Corsair started as a USN requirement for a carrier aircraft that could perform with the best land based aircraft of its day. It was harnessed to a 2000hp Pratt and Whitney 2800 double wasp engine, which allowed it to exceed 400mph in level flight, becoming the first US production aircraft to do so. Other carrier aircraft of its time were considerably overbuilt to withstand the repeated stresses of carrier landings. Early carrier trials produced mediocre results, and the Navy released the aircraft for the Marine Corps who desperately needed a decent replacement for the obsolete F4F Wildcats. Two navy units were supplied with the Corsair, but one later gave its aircraft to the marines and the other (VF-12) was removed from its carrier, the USS Bunker Hill, but continued to operate from land bases in the Rabaul area.

    The Marines were very happy with their new aircraft, and it saw combat from February 1943 on from bases in Guadalcanal and the Solomon Island chain, it became a very potent aircraft and produced its first ace by May of 1943, 2nd Lieutenant Kenneth A. Walsh, who ended the war with 21 kills.

    As the war progressed the F4U Corsair developed itself into a close support aircraft, providing marines with precision strikes in support of amphibious landings. The Navy also adopted several squadrons as they needed more combat aircraft to combat the increasing threat of kamikaze attacks.

    By the end of the war, US pilots had flown 64051 sorties and scored 2140 kills against enemy aircraft for only 189 losses; a kill ratio of over 11:1. It also ped close to 70% of the total bombs ped by fighter-bombers during the war, an important statistic to the Marines on the beaches of Okinawa or Iwo Jima. It also saw WWII service with the Royal Navy in both theatres, and with the RNZAF and other commonwealth nations.

    Upon the conclusion of the Second World War, the Corsair continued to see service around the world. The advent of jet fighters such as the Mig-15 and F-86 Sabre made them obsolete as fighters, but the corsair continued to be a popular ground attack aircraft, and saw extensive combat in Korea. They served faithfully with the French navy during the 50's, seeing combat in French Indochina against the Vietcong, and also against the Eqyptians during the Suez crisis and continued to serve until 1964.

    The Corsair last saw combat in 1969, when surplus Corsairs, operated by the airforces of Honduras and El Salvador faced each other in the Football War.

    GRAUPNER WP STARLET 2400 MM





    Description

    The STARLET 2400 model is an enlargement of the model from 1982 with a wingspan of about 1525 mm. The original was offered by the company Stolp in the USA as a kit in the experimental class for amateur aircraft builders. The one-seater aircraft with the parasol design was assembled using composite construction techniques. As propulsion system, it is possible to install anything from a VW car engine to a 60-hp Continental. The docile flying characteristics make the STARLET 2400 ideal as a starting point in the area of large model flying and switching to aileron-controlled motorised models. Both internal combustion and electric motors can be used for propulsion. Simple aerobatics are possible with types of propulsion system. With the OS GT 33, vertical climbs are possible. However, the docile flight behavior means that very slow overflights can also be done. To change the drive battery inthe electric version, a large opening has been provided in the the fuselage in the area of the cockpit. The two detachable wings and the two halves of the tailplane can be removed for transport.

    Instruction
    Step 1: Install the magnetic wheels with your wheel strut.
    Step 2: Connect two brake wheels’ wire into PC-board, and the signal wire into the receiver :
    Step 3: Set an action “ON/OFF” on your transmitter:
    Notice :The signal wire must connect into the working receiver,otherwise it will consume all the battery.
    Voltage input:
    7.2V-30V can tap directly on aircraft battery or use an external battery 7.2V-30V.
    Brake force control:
    The transmitter only support ON/OFF, thus there is not making proportional brake, or you can use currency trim button to control the brake force.The controller shut down the brake after 1 minute. The controller will smartly detect it,shut down the current to brake system and automatically reset it to its normal function.
    This ‘auto-shut down’ is designed to protect the magnetic coil and conserve your battery power.
